Transform an external CD burner in an external hard drive?
I recently found a CD-RW ACER out and remember that I Many disks around. I have the idea of replacing the CD burner (which becomes a standard IDE disk) to a hard drive I have, and connect to my computer, turning it into an external hard drive. I wonder if anyone has done this before and how I can do this feat.
It is unlikely that work, the USB drivers for the IDE driver probably only wrote CDRW, CDRW can work with one another but not Drive disk drive. Sorry, but it will not work liekly. However, do not hesitate to stick a hard drive to try, you never know what can be detected well in XP
