Advice: First backup your system before launching any hazardous operation, some operations may have just cause data loss. Any modification and / or damage to your laptop is at your own risk.
As you know now Acer Notebooks and other manufacturers are provided with a remediation system installed in a hidden partition (PQSERVICE for Acer) on your hard drive. Usually, This system is started by simultaneously pressing the ALT + F10, but sometimes does not work.
What is the problem?
There are many possible causes, but most common are:
A function D2D was disabled in the BIOS.
Solution: Activate by pressing F2 at startup to access the BIOS menu and change settings, then reboot and press ALT + F10 during boot laptop.
Note: For all these solutions take into account the recommendations of Max, I quote Max now, a factor on my site "But I want to talk about how I resolved the issue, because it is so rarely mentioned anywhere. All methods to repair the D2D Alt + F10 issue are well informed and intelligent, but they all say forget one fundamental thing:

Yes many restoration attempts fail due to this condition.
B A common problem the Acer Master Boot Record (MBR) is damaged or replaced by another MBR system. You can reinstall the Acer MBR if the partition is PQSERVICE this or you can access the necessary files.
Solutions:
FIRST
Transforming a functional system of FAT32 values of the partition table organized crime or obstetrician for installable FAT32 system files and 12 or 1B for Hidden FAT32, NTFS system values Tables NTFS partitions are known O7 Installable File System and 27 for Acer custom Hidden NTFS:
1. Go into the BIOS and disable D2D recovery.
2. Download partedit32.

When localized open a Windows command prompt as administrator and type the command "mbrwrdos.exe install rtmbr.bin" to install the Acer MBR. Close the command prompt, restart your laptop again reactivate the D2D recovery BIOS. Now ALT + F10 should work and run the Acer eRecovery when the house phone.
SECOND
Someone who has tried to follow the first method, but failed to find the 2 files found another solution to restore partition.
Partedit32 PQSERVICE key to locate the partition (on Aspire 5920, its largest to 9 GB partition)
Change the partition type to 07 (NTFS installable), reboot.
After reboot, go into Windows management team and mark the partition as active PQSERVICE then restart again.
Voila! Now you can go to the road to recovery
THIRD
From a functional Windows system.
Download Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) run it choose from the menu:
"File System Tools
Administrators Home
"For me, GAG has worked well, but you can choose one of the other bootloader, you PQSERVICE recognized by the same type (hidden).
Just install any boot loader to boot and use the eRecovery PQSERVICE to start the restoration process.
C The final problem: Replace the hard drive (in this case presents no more PQSERVICE) or partition has been erased or damaged.
Solution: I hope you burned the Acer restore CD / DVD when you asked the time of first use, because if not done previously saved your laptop computer, making a disk image, you can not use the Acer eRecovery.
