Dell is a gaffe late in the growing trend of mini-laptops with its 8.9-inch Dell Inspiron Mini 9 (with a superior 'Mini 12' is also Included in the series). It is much like any other Dell laptop – functional – and to some extent it is. There is nothing radically new in the Mini 9 that the 9-inch laptops most other short, the Intel Atom 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM and a bright 8.9-inch screen with resolution 1024×600.

Autonomy battery, much better than the 3 cell MSI Wind is rather poor compared to the competition 6-cell Eee PC and tastes. Dell promises to approximately 4 hours; reasonable but not a patch on the same size Eee PC 901. In an attempt to keep the alliance of mobile, battery eating area at the keyboard, removing the line F1-F12, leaving the depth of the keys very shallow anyway. The keyboard does not extend to either edge, so it is no larger than it seems. In general, both the battery and the keyboard are a little compromised. The touchpad is nice though, with the buttons mouse down, step aside as the HP Mini-Note or the Acer Aspire One
Styles again with disappointing with most Dell computers – Or is he deaf? The interface looks bored and slightly beyond the edges – is a box. And it is only available in black in the United Kingdom. Solid state storage and passive cooling (no fan) give a fairly quiet machine, an interesting option. The storage system itself is a little on the small side, 8 GB for the XP version – half that of Linux, especially after pre-installed Windows and the programs are taken into account.
See, the keyboard and problems of life of the battery side, the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 is a very good team. As far as we slam Dell, they are a mark of confidence and familiarity – which can be a good thing when any reduction of staff. Hello, I'm in the market for a netbook and have reduced my choice asipre and Eee 901. My questions are easy for me to upgrade (memory, hard Hardrive) and I buy the low end and improve, well, you should buy Ith a netbook XP or Linux? Thank you for taking the time to read my mail.
Both are equally easy (or more) for the update, although I would not recommend Do it not yourself because of security. Personally, I like Acer Aspire and if you are familiar with Linux and comfortable with it then I suggest you go with that.
