New Asus Remote Control for Windows Media Player & Media Center TV/Music/Video $20.00 |
Sonos 130 Music System: Review
This is a PCI card that I bought the light lounge complete my Windows Media Center PC (I'm going to write a "how" at a later date) to place in my life to take over space on my DVD player, VCR, DVB-T tuner standard definition and high fidelity. It cost nearly  £ 105, you may think it's a bit expensive, but I will explain the reasons for my choice later.
What's in the box?
PCI x1
Driver CD x1
MCE Remote Control x1
Infra Red Cable x1
Small Form Factor Bracket x1
Instructions x1
Analog input cable x1
Video Studio 8 x1
USB cable x 1
Audio cable x1
Installation
Installation, like most PCI cards, is a painless procedure that gives relativley follow the instructions. One thing to consider in setting card in your computer is that it can get pretty hot in this, put the card in the back of my system so it was away from the graphics card I did not want the graphics card and a tuner for the mutual exchange of heat and potentially injuring another.
One thing I do, and it just my preference is to ignore the CD that comes with all cards like and download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website for 2 reasons: 1) sometimes the card or which has been sitting on the shelf for months and during this period the manufacturer has already released several updates. 2) when downloading Site Web software maker to choose only the software they need rather than wasting all that is usually installed with the drivers CD, I talk about things as toolbars or adware exasperating that comes with a software package that helps to slow down your PC. As I said this is just my preference.
This is not the cheapest DVB (Digital Video Broadcast Terrestrial) tuner card there, but I chose because it had certain characteristics that seemed essential to justify the passage of a terrestrial digital tuner to a Windows Independent Media Center-based television. The first condition is that there must be a dual tuner so I can watch one show while recording another. The second condition is that I was being a HD (high definition) card, so that would work when the HD starts to broadcast television in Britain, and of course when I upgrade to a TV or a huge HD projector!
One thing that surprised me this card is the quality of the remote that comes with it. Usually, This type of design things the remote seems to be an afterthought and is adequate at best, it is definitley in the case of the card Dvico. The remote is sturdy, well built, and it really feels like a proper remote control! I must confess that I used the remote provided with the card, I use the remote that comes with Logitech S510 Cordless Desktop purelybecause the scroll wheel on the remote, it is faster to navigate menus. If I had not already bought this Cordless Desktop then I definitley be happy with the Dvico REMTE supplies.
I used the software supplied with the TV card is a brief, but did not look as good or as intuitive as Windows Media Center 2005, while I believe that in the absence Windows Media Center software that would work. One thing I have yet to try is making analog functions map, but if the performance of other features cards are for something, then I am sure he will do exactly as it says on the box!
I use this card with Windows Media 2005 Center for about 3 months now and I can say that this card is done without problems.

Conclusion
Not the cheapest digital TV tuner card on the market but if you're serious about building a decent Home Theater PC (HTPC) with a lot of features, this card is interesting thinking. The only thing that let this dark side of the TV software is included, but if you plan to use Windows Media Center 2005, it will no problem.
I had a little problem installing the IR cable is provided with this card, this is because the openings back slot in my case (Thermaltake Armor) are slightly smaller than normal, which means that the installation of infrared connector female was quite difficult. Once installed, the infrared function worked perfectly.

For anyone running more than 4 GB of RAM in your PC ….?
OK, I need to know what motherboard and operating system you use and other problems Call your August as the compatibility of RAM. I tried to improve – perhaps a motherboard EVGA and a quad core ……. then upgrade to Vista Home Premium. It is a PC that has everything – acting as a TV, DVD player, computer games, word processing, graphic design / media editor communication and of course, a music player. Currently I'm running a motherboard P5N-E SLI (which Not compatible with more than 2 GB of RAM ASUS said – System does not start …. Hangs on the job and can not enter the BIOS) 2 GB Kingston Value RAM, Core 2 Duo E6420 overclocked to 20%. His knowledge and assistance will be greatly appreciated
Not sure what you need, but certainly if the action ASUS, which can take more RAM then it must surely be a small error on the motherboard. Read the manual for m / b, and must say that if changes are necessary to run more RAM and restarting the computer can access the BIOS and change settings, then, before you put in plunger to phsically can never be simple !!!!!
