What is the difference between Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable and a regular HDMI cable?
So i have an old xbox that i use now on an old tv, and it is the Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable with the red/yellow/white cords that go into your tv. However im going to upgrade my tv and it says it only uses HDMI. So are the cords basically the same thing other than the Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable having red/yellow/ and white cords and the HDMI not? Will I need both or only one? this is the moniter im going to get ASUS VH236H 23 Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor – Black. It doesnt have the red white and yellow input only HDMI. So will i have to get an HDMi cable thats it in order to play my xbox on that moniter? Or will i need more stuff
Ok so i need the HDMI cables, but by any chance do you know how i would plug in my headsets because they are connected to the red and white that had gone into the tv, but there won’t be anywhere to plug them into the moniter.
You’re going to a monitor. Some monitors include HDMI ports. No monitors include component/composite cables. The monitor you listed accepts HDMI. So you will not be able to use the Component cables you have, and you will have to purchase an HDMI cable for your xbox. Since your monitor has built in speakers the audio will play on the monitor through the single hdmi cable.
