If you've been looking for a netbook recently, you may be surprised that most of the specifications are very similar between different units. The vast majority of netbooks have a 10-inch screen, comes with 1 GB of memory and 160 GB of hard drive storage. Generally come Microsoft Windows XP, and has an integrated WiFi card. Almost never have joined a CD or DVD, but you can add one in the outside world via USB.
The reason for the uniformity of these specifications is the limitations imposed by Intel and Microsoft. Intel offers the Atom chip laptops more powerful.
