Could you put a hard drive of a Compaq with the operating system and even files on a Gateway laptop?
I a Compaq Evo N610C and I put the hard drive temporarily active in my Gateway MX7525. Both are Windows XP, but the Compaq is XP Pro and XP Media Center Gateway is. I try? Issues that could be terrible? The Compaq HD is 40.01 GB Hitachi 4200rpm, all I know about the bridge is that it is 100 GB 5400 rpm HD. I need help before attempting this!
You can start, but more likely to find hardware problems (even if it does) because Windows XP uses the extraction hal.dll file that tells you what hardware is present and what drivers to use. You can try, the worst case unbootable. For gurlieguitarplayer and Tom have been doing these things for over 25 years and working on computers since before IBM PC3270 and XT. Chill out is just a job. But Tom is not in the Windows environment and correct to the Unix and Linux. I did some experiments of this type in NT File Sharing HAL.DLL only and has found many times I get the system good enough to make appropriate changes. But not always, Larry, who was a lifestyle, but one day I woke up and it was fun, it became a job. ✰ ✰ ✰
