How serious is the damage on my external drive?
Hello, yesterday I dropped my Packard Bell 250GB HDD extrenal on the floor about 3 feet. It was plugged into the network and my laptop, but I'm not sure if it was spinning or not. In the beginning was to a sort of clicking noise as it was given rides, but it now appears that May is spinning, and if very small partition, for example, 1 GB, which seems to work well. However, I am trying to format a partition of about 10GB and it takes forever. It worked for about half an hour and is 5%, but is constantly in motion. Thinking that a break or just wait for the full format and see how he feels? Do you think the speed that is currently format will be the speed if I managed to reformat the disk? Thank you. Do you have an idea why it seems to work with partitions so small?
case.put take the camera to your PC. you can use a program to check the drive to see if the call damaged.a program, hard disk sentinel can tell the temperature, the status of smart things, and others on the drive to see if its good or not. external drives are slow to start. if its use as additional storage thats fine. music.but play if playing games will be much slower than if you were in your PC.
