Hunger
Technology Future
There have been many developments in the field of curing hunger
over the past few years. Chronic persistent hunger can occur in a
country due to the inability to produce enough food from that
country’s own land to meet the needed food intake of their
expanding population.

happens, typically in more underdeveloped and less economical
countries, then food supplies fall far below the level that is
required to feed that country’s residents and the country can not
afford any longer to import food to cover the needs that they can
not meet.
Many scientists and researchers have worked over the years to
alleviate the chronic hunger of all countries. Advances such as
using artificial fertilizers and the quickly growing developments
in using machines to produce food over the past quarter of a
century have lead to food being produced at an annual rate of
nearly 3 percent in countries where the population grew at only 2
percent.
These advances lend people to believe that someday world hunger
will no longer be an issue to be dealt with but merely a sad memory
of what used to be.
A good example of using technology to help cure hunger is
biotechnology.
This is the idea of genetically modifying crops in an attempt to
increase the yields from those crops and from livestock. This
technology is still being developed to ensure its complete safety
but the effect that it could have on the world hunger issue is
phenomenal.

all crops are resistant to disease and parasites is another
development that is being pursued to ensure against causing
mutations that were unintended. When tampering with the environment
it is important to understand the circle of life.
For instance, if a company were to develop a strain of oil seed
that is immune to weed killer then this will have a direct effect
on insects who would having nothing to feed on. If there were no
insects then the birds would have nothing to feed on.
The circle goes on and on. In order to effectively use
technology to cure hunger in the future, these things must be
considered and dealt with effectively and accordingly to ensure
that the environment remains safe on all aspects.
There are technologies however, that do not apply directly to
food production which are helping to solve the problem of chronic
hunger all over the world. The internet is a wonderful way in which
to broadcast information about the hunger problem.
This technology although not directly related to producing food
on any account, is being used to help alleviate the problem of
hunger. As more and more people begin getting information from the
internet there will be more people aware of the chronic hunger
problem in many areas.
The more people that are aware of the problem, the better chance
of curing it.
It is not completely unfathomable to assume that world hunger
will be wiped out in the future. With the new technologies that are
being developed and invented every day it is, in fact quite
possible that there will come a day in the future in which there is
no chronic hunger whatsoever.
As more researchers and scientists develop more products it is
safe to assume that technology will play a major role in stamping
out chronic hunger over the next few years.
