Can not start start new DVD-RW?
I have a laptop Packard Bell EasyNote e2560. Was delivered with a DVD-ROM but has been replaced with a DVD-RW a few months ago to burn DVDs. The device works perfectly, but I used to start a CD of Windows XP at startup to install a new copy of Windows XP. I set the BIOS to start the first drive, but still nothing. I know that the hard works as I used it several times (many installed on this computer long before changing the device). I'll start the installation When booting the current operating system (running XP), but I am worried it will erase the hard drive and then not be able to boot from the CD-ROM when you restart the system. This leaves me with a machine without an operating system without installing the media, so I would prefer that the startup disk to start the system. Ideas. Thank you.
Replace the original CD-ROM and booting that.
