The drive from my desktop Packard Bell has suddenly stopped working!?
The record of my Packard Bell has suddenly stopped working. It worked fine last night, and when I went to play a game tonight is not to recognize the disc. I tried to read CD, DVD and CD with documents and all of them work. I have not installed any new software or anything. I tried System Restore and restart but nothing seems to work. Anyone have an idea of what I can do. Btw, the computer has an Internet connection at the time.
It is very likely that a dirty laser lens. Buy a lens cleaning disc or any good music shop computer and follow the insructions. If this fails, the drive may be dead. You can buy a CD / DVD now for less than £ 40 (UK) and are easy to place. Make sure the jumpers on the back are the same as the existing unit. Only two cables to unplug and replace is 10 minutes of work. I hope this helps
