Need Advice on Buying HDTV?

I'm about to buy a 32 "HDTV morning. I've seen before, and considered a Samsung Series 5 or LG Scarlet (I forgot the model). I like the physical aspect of the LG Scarlet along with the package contains. The only thing that makes me think again is that no PIP. Now I have no experience with HDTV since this is my first purchase, what do you think? PIP is important? The salesman told me that LG told them that they have eliminated PIP PIP on this model because it can damage the screen or pixel (?). Is this true? If so, then why do other brands in practice? What can you say about Samasung Series 5? In the case of Samsung, which like the general allowances that the seller is offering LG, but for me the TV performance and ability is more important. Please advise.

In all honesty, do not worry with all technical aspects. When to buy the home of television it will look great. All I really want is 1080p 120htz refresh rate (especially if you watch sports). An advice would you give however, if your looking at 32 "to buy the next larger size. You will receive the 32" home and think "hmm shoulda been bigger." The People who throw all these technical things are trying to talk over your head (the sales person for example). It you pull all that you do not understand and that makes you think, wow that one should be better. When you do not really see the difference. These televisions are already made to show more than the human eye can see (show more colors we can see, also the human eye maxes out at a refresh rate of 72htz, however, you can buy 120htz).
