My Acer laptop has gotten a virus, and i don’t have the right CDs to fix it. I was looking online and found the eRecovery CD. Will this help me to erase everything on my computer and start over again?

that recovery cd is just to fix minor issues with the laptop without restoring it. You can’t restore your OS with that.
Just remove the virus, you don;t have to wipe the whole hard drive and reinstall windows. You can remove the virus with your protection programs. Also I would install malwarebytes, just in case it is spyware.
